MIOG Update!

Myself and Chris felt it was time we updated you guys on where we are at. Although there isn't really a lot to shout about yet, we've had a really busy month since we launched nearly a month ago. We initially started this idea up as we'd seen plenty of demand for a Modern Image show in the O gauge sector.

Chris came to me asking for help with everything and between us we've both been bitten and drawn into it. (Social life is at an all time low now) People always take exhibitions for granted I think, and until now I never realised how much hard work went into planning and pulling off an exhibition. We launched and the reception for us was just massive. We had over 2000 hits within our first 2 weeks of our website/facebook being live, and we've just continued to grow. When we started we didn't really have a direction that we wanted to take MIOG, other than our aim was to try and put on a show that everyone would want in the diary. We've since added a 'Latest news' section to our website, and we are also working on bringing the people who don't use social media another way to get involved with us in the form of a forum - Keep your eyes peeled for more details on this! Our Gallery will also be getting an update in the not so distant future. If you have any suggestions on what you'd like to see from us or on the website then please contact us via the 'contact us' tab above.

We also started getting ourselves out in the public eye a little bit, and out on the exhibition circuit trying to meet the people that had shown an online interest in the show. Our first show that we attended was the Bristol O gauge show at the end of January, and this was a 1 day event we only sent a small team with our stand. The reception that we received from this show was overwhelming, and the stand was none stop all day, with people coming to chat to us. Whilst there it also allowed us to get out there and chat to traders/manufacturers that hadn't heard of us before that show.

While we were on a role we also managed to get ourselves in attendance at the Stafford Railway Cricle's exhibition for the first weekend of Feb. This gave us a two day platform in which we could get out there and meet you guys, and also capture the people who are teetering on the edge of the 'should I/Shouldn't I' take the jump from N/00 to O. We had another weekend of amazing reception and I don't think that either me or Chris had a chance to look round the full exhibition over the course of the weekend. We also managed to sign another layout up for the exhibition in the form of Arcadia Pennsylvania, along with a couple more traders. I've now updated our 'Exhibition' page on the website with the relevant traders that have been added to the list. We are still on the hunt for traders/manufacturers to get on board with our exhibition.

Whilst at Stafford we were approached by the Gauge O Guild, who continued to tell us that they recognised what we had been doing and had heard a-lot about us! Both me and Chris didn't really know what to think at this moment but they could only praise us! And I am pleased to confirm that we are now attending there Kettering Exhibition at the beginning of March with our stand.

The exhibition takes place on the 2nd March, and i'll attach the details below;

Guild Spring Show 2019 - Kettering
Date:Saturday, 2nd March 2019 10.00am to 4.00pm
Location:Kettering Leisure Village, Thurston Drive, Kettering, NN15 6PB
Price:£5 members, £10 Non-members. Both prices admit 1+partner+2 children

It would be great if we could see any of you there, both me and Chris will be on hand to talk to should you wish to!

I'd also like to take the chance to thank the dedicated teams that we've had at both exhibitions thus far, and who have given up there free time to help us with this venture. I've attached a couple of pics below of our stands from both Bristol & Stafford shows.

Signing out for now.
